Corvette Racing to Go Global in 2022

Established in the early 1900s, Chevrolet has launched successful racing programs throughout its rich history. The American automotive giant wants to kick off some new chapters in its well-established racing heritage. In 2022, the Corvette Racing program will make a grand entrance into the FIA World Endurance Championship and International Motor Sports Association. Celebrating nearly a quarter of a century on the circuit, the Corvette Racing family will make highly anticipated debuts on these prestigious tours. Up to six experienced drivers from the previous season will return to the lineup of the Corvette Racing team in 2022.

Chevrolet Expands its Racing Teams on a Global Stage

Scheduled for a debut in 2024, the Corvette Z06 GT3.R will be one of the most capable racing cars ever launched by Chevrolet's racing division. Under the hood, this aggressive sports car will share the same mechanical platform as the production-level 2023 Corvette Z06. Employing a flat-plane crankshaft, the all-new 5.5-liter engine block will utilize direct injection and natural aspiration for powerful combustion. A mid-mounted configuration is an appropriate design for the V-8 gasoline engine. Engineered to reduce aerodynamic drag, a lightweight aluminum chassis will be another important design concept for the next-generation Chevy Corvette Z06 GT3.R model. As Chevrolet continues to tweak and finalize the design of the 2024 edition, you could focus on the upcoming racing events worldwide in 2022.

Antonio Garcia will take command of the Chevy Corvette C8.R model with the exclusive GTD-Pro badge. This sleek and capable vehicle claims the NO. 3 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM sponsorship for racing. Entering his 12th year on the circuit, the experienced driver is expected to compete at the highest level of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. He will be paired with Jordan Taylor in the third year at the IMSA platform. Nicky Catsburg is another experienced driver joining the Corvette Racing team with the GTD-Pro label. Tommy Miler will be behind the wheel of the Corvette C8.R GTE Pro model. This custom-tuned vehicle will compete at the FIA World Endurance Championship. Some other members who will enter the WIC include Nick Tandy and Alexander Sims. The GTE Pro Model carries the distinct NO. 64 MOBIL 1/SiriusXM designation.
