The new 2020 Chevy Equinox comes to the automobile market as a brand new release for Chevrolet and debut for the Equinox model line. The all-new Chevy Equinox keeps up with its setting as an SUV and contains some new equipment that comes standard for all models. It also has revised packages and options for each trim, but this year's model no longer has a diesel engine running it.
The 2020 Equinox is gifted with its own trim levels and features respective to each trim level. The Equinox now comes with four trim levels: the L, LS, LT, and Premier trims. The L is the most basic model and comes with typical features like a front-wheel drive, 17-inch alloy wheels, speed-sensitive steering, and a spoiler. The LS is the next model up and comes with optional 19-inch alloy wheels, a rear anti-roll bar, power door mirrors, a rear lip spoiler, and a chrome rear bumper insert. The LT is above that model and adds in features such as optional 18-inch alloy wheels, power steering, electronic transmission control, manual air conditioning, a full floor console, and illuminated entry. The Premier is the most advanced model and has some previously mentioned features, as well as 18-inch alloy wheels, a steel spare wheel, a chrome grille, a power liftgate, door mirror memory, and a proximity key.
The 2020 Chevy Equinox comes with its own special engine that can take the pressure and performance of the vehicle it is suited to. The Equinox engine has seen upgrades so that now it can produce a 170 horsepower rating and kick out exactly 203 pounds per feet of engine torque. The engine contains inline 4 cylinders on the interior, a front-wheel drive and a 6-speed shiftable automatic transmission with a direct injection capability. Along with all of this, it has a fuel economy that ranks at a rather standard 28 combined miles per gallon.
The Chevy Equinox, like all cars before it, is meant to be safe and does not spare expenses when it comes to safety features and protocols. Safety is never a laughing matter with any vehicle and the Equinox gets a start first by having better traction and stability, namely in the form of a better 4-wheel ABS system and an engine immobilizer readily installed. Front and rear ventilated disc brakes are also in place to keep the brake system alive and well. A pre-collision and post-collision safety system is also in place to not only warn drivers of impending collisions but update them on the car damage if a collision unfortunately occurs. There is also a blind-spot warning and avoidance system to complement that so now extra awareness is given to drivers.
