2021 Chevrolet Malibu

What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Malibu?

Although the Malibu was first introduced in 1964, it remains one of the most popular nameplates on the market today. Malibu has gracefully aged over time, introducing new technology and style over the years to stay up-to-date with current trends and consumer demands. Not surprisingly, the 2021 Malibu adds some new features to give drivers the freshest options for amenities and conveniences. The Chevy Malibu adds wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay for its technology features this year. It also has a new special edition package called the Sport Edition that gives the Malibu a more athletic appearance and adds black accents to its exterior. The Malibu also stands out for its comfortable cabin and available turbo engine for enhanced power.

The Malibu Has Many Features Across Several Trims

The 2021 Chevy Malibu is made in five trim levels. The first trim is the L. The second is the LS, followed by the RS, the LT, and the top trim called the Premier. All five trim levels of the Malibu seat five people. For convenience and comfort, the base trim level includes an eight-inch touchscreen interface and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has a six-speaker stereo system. Cruise control is a standard amenity, along with the keyless entry.

The LS adds some more safety aids and a 4G WiFi hotspot. The RS has more distinctive exterior elements, including a dual exhaust system, body-colored mirrors on the outside, a black grille, and a rear spoiler. It also upgrades to 18-inch wheels. The interior has some additional luxury touches, including a leather steering wheel and leather-wrapped gear shift knob. The LT trim has a satellite radio, heated front seats, and dual-zone climate control. Larger 19-inch wheels come with the Premier trim, which also has a more powerful engine, heated seats, and wireless device charging.

Chevrolet Malibu Powertrain and Its Performance

The first four trims of the 2021 Malibu have a turbo four-cylinder engine with a power output of 160 HP. This engine is connected to an automatic transmission. The Premier trim that tops the line gets a separate turbo engine with an increase to 250 HP. A nine-speed transmission comes with the Premier's engine. All five Malibu trim levels have front-wheel drive.

Safety Features in the Forefront for 2021

This year, the Chevy Malibu gets a Teen Driver package that allows parents to customize settings for younger drivers behind the wheel. Parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keep assist, and blind-spot monitoring are other Chevrolet safety aids.
