2021 Chevrolet Silverado

What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Silverado?

This year, Chevy offers the Silverado with a new Multi-Flex Tailgate. This versatile tailgate can be used for various functions, including a step ladder and outdoor workstation. Wireless smartphone integration also arrives for 2021, which eliminates the need to use a USB cord. Another big update is the truck's enhanced trailering technologies. Not only do drivers now have access to a cargo-bed viewer, but they can also benefit from Chevy's all-new Jack-Knife Alert feature.

2021 Silverado Trims & Features

Chevy offers the Silverado 1500 in eight trim levels. The base Silverado WT is an ideal work truck. It comes standard with some great conveniences, including a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone support.

A step above the base Silverado is the Custom trim. Some of its key upgrades include 20-inch alloy wheels, front tow hooks, and keyless entry. While the rugged Custom Trail Boss trim is similarly equipped, a 2.0-inch suspension lift and standard Z71 Off-Road package make it more suitable for tackling rough terrain.

While the Silverado LT isn't as adventurous as the Custom Trail Boss trim, it does receive a few more upgrades. Highlights include a standard 4G Wi-Fi hot spot, LED headlights, and a larger 8.0-inch touchscreen. Sportier exterior styling helps separate the Silverado RST. This trim also benefits from a power-locking tailgate and remote start.

The LT Trail Boss trim is essentially a more luxurious version of the previously mentioned Silverado Custom Trail Boss. Another notch up trim ladder is the leather-appointed LTZ trim, which comes equipped with heated front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control. Atop the Silverado range sits the plush High Country trim. It receives ventilated front seats, a Bose premium sound system, and wireless smartphone charging.

Silverado has heavy-duty 2500 HD and 3500 HD variants, offering more horsepower and torque if you need more payload and trailering power.

2021 Chevrolet Silverado Horsepower

When shopping for a new Silverado 1500, you'll have multiple engines to choose from. Even the base V6 engine cranks out a competitive 285 horsepower. Meanwhile, stepping up to the turbocharged four-cylinder engine increases output to 310 horsepower. Chevy also offers the Silverado with two different V8 engines. While the 5.3-liter engine develops 355 horsepower, the larger 6.2-liter engine pushes out 420 horsepower. Drivers seeking class-leading fuel economy will be interested in the Duramax diesel engine, which generates an impressive 460 lb-ft of torque.

Chevrolet Silverado Safety

The 2021 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 offers all the latest safety technologies. While Side Blind Zone Alert helps you to change lanes with greater confidence, Front Pedestrian Braking gives you more security in crowded areas. Other available driving aids include lane-keep assist, a vibrating Safety Alert Seat, and low-speed automatic emergency braking.
