What's New For the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban?
The Chevrolet Suburban is substantially redesigned for 2021. The 2021 Suburban gets more legroom for the second and third rows, propelling it to the front of its class for legroom. The cabin gets more room from front to back, too, as the wheelbase is a little longer. The Chevy Suburban has a new cabin as well, complete with the addition of more standard technology.
Infotainment is at the center of the Suburban's cabin in 2021, with a centrally-located infotainment system offering easy and convenient access to features such as music, apps, and navigation. Some interior highlights are the same as before, including a dual seating option of seven or eight occupants. Along with providing updated technology, the Suburban also gets more safety amenities. While many features are standard, some are available through add-on packages or standalone options.
2021 Suburban Has Varied Trim Levels & Countless Features
The base Suburban trim, LS, starts with 18-inch wheels, while the higher-level trims have up to 22-inch wheels. The LS can hold up to eight passengers. The LS puts connectivity at your fingertips with its standard 10-inch touchscreen, which ranks best-in-class. Android Auto and Apple CarPlay are included. The LT follows with a few more touches, including wireless charging and a hands-free, programmable liftgate.
The RST and the Z71 are both designed for off-road expeditions. The RST has 22-inch wheels, an exterior with custom black trim, and contrast stitching on the seats. The Z71 gets all-terrain tires for additional traction and capability, ground clearance, a ten-speaker sound system, and a digital instrument cluster. The High Country has an exclusive V8 engine and a rear pedestrian alert system.

What's Under the Hood of the Chevrolet Suburban?
The Chevrolet Suburban can be rigged with three engines, including a diesel that generates 277 HP and has a turbocharge. The base engine, standard on all Suburban trims but the High Country, cranks out over 300 HP matched by over 380 LB-FT of torque. The engine on the High Country ups the power output to 420 and 460 LB-FT in torque. The gasoline engines get a 10-speed transmission, and four-wheel drive is available for all trims.
2021 Suburban Safety Technologies
Forward collision avoidance is standard on the LS. The Premier adds on more safety technology, including blind-spot monitoring and lane-keep assist. Traffic-adaptive cruise control is available as an add-on safety feature.
