What's New For The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado?

The new Silverado sports a muscular body that sits on a redesigned frame. It is expected to be more capable and lighter than previous models. It uses lightweight materials for the tailgate, hood and doors. Chevy says that approximately 450 pounds were trimmed on the new model compared to its predecessor. The 2019 Silverado is also bigger than its predecessor. The wheelbase is almost 4.0 inches longer and the overall length is over 1.5 inches longer. All trims levels will feature a larger bed, more legroom and added storage space. A powered tailgate is also available.

2019 Chevrolet Silverado Trim & Features

The new Silverado will offer a total of eight trim levels. The base Work Truck will sit on 17-inch steel wheels and have vinyl or cloth seats with black exterior trim. It will also feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a vintage Chevrolet block lettering grille design.

The Custom trim upgrades to 20-inch aluminum wheels, body-matching exterior trim and LED taillights. The Custom Trailboss trim sports a 2.0-inch lift and the Z71 Off Road package, which includes the following: locking rear differential, skid plates, Ranch shocks, and 18-inch wheels with Goodyear DuraTrac tires.

The LT trim switches to a Chevrolet bowtie grille emblem, exterior chrome trim, LED headlights, and an 8.0-inch infotainment system. The LT Trailboss is basically a combination of the Custom Trailboss and the LT.

The new RST trim improves the appeal of the Silverado through exterior colors, all exterior LED lighting, and optional 22-inch wheels. The LTZ and High Country trims are designed for customers who desire a taste of luxury. The LTZ features standard luxury items such as leather interior and power-folding exterior mirrors. The High Country has a special grille, chrome running boards, and a standard powered tailgate.

How Many Different Powertrain Options Does The Chvrolet Silverado Have?

2019 Chevy SilveradoThe Silverado will feature six different powertrain options. Two new gasoline V-8 engines will be available, a 5.3-liter and a 6.2-liter. These powertrains will be coupled to a 10-speed automatic transmission and feature push button start/stop.

The turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder engine coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission will power most trim levels. This engine is proof that big things come in small packages. It is rated at 310 horsepower and 348 lb-ft torque.

The 4.3-liter V6 is considered the base engine that will power fleet and other budget trim levels. A new turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder diesel engine will be optional for LT and above trims.
